"Knowledge is a powerful tool. A lack of understanding among young people regarding the conduct of their online activity can lead to their long-term publicly available information negatively affecting future prospects. Good guidance leading to safe practice can protect against such problems arising in the future."

Tracy met and worked with Sharon Girling OBE when she worked for the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) and has worked with her on a number of occasions since then. Sharon is the only PC to have ever been awarded an OBE and her dedication to child safety is legendary. Her knowledge and experience is absolutely essential to young people in this day and age. Sharon is a highly engaging speaker with a passion for the subject and I thoroughly recommend her to any and every school.

The Social Networking Healthcheck: a seminar for students - and their parents

This seminar offers both students and parents the opportunity to understand the impact of social networking sites, their privacy settings, posted photographs and other related online activity. An additional service is the use of our team to assist in cleaning up a student’s ‘digital dirt’ and adapt their social networking profile into an asset.

Seminar participants will:

  • achieve a good understanding of social networking.

  • appreciate the basic rules of safe social networking.

  • understand the implications of posting data on their own profiles and those of others.

  • hear about cases where employment and colleges have refused applications.

  • identify the benefits of undertaking ‘a clean-up’ of profiles.

  • learn how to prepare a social networking profile for interview.

  • anticipate likely questions regarding social networking profiles and how to answer them.
